We met over a cup of coffee at one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. We had planned to meet at another cute little spot but it was the one day of the year that it actually rained and it was basically flooded everywhere so we had to go to plan b. As I complained about ALL of the rain we had just got, they told me they were from Seattle….and then I shut up about the rain. And then I fell in love with these two. They were so sweet, so charming and I just loved their vibe. Their wedding is on Friday and I am SO excited to just see them and hang out again. I know it’s going to be a good one and I can’t wait! Here are my favorites from their engagement session. Basically all of them because they’re pro’s.
Long before I made the move from Central California to Los Angeles, where I live now, I lived in Sacramento for a short while. I had just started my photography business, and I say that loosely because I didn’t even have a website yet. While living there I started working at Lucky Brand. I still remember what I was wearing when I went in to pick up an application from Sophia. She then interviewed and hired me and turned into a dear friend while I lived there. That Lucky crew of mine still holds a special place in my heart and I’m so happy that we’ve all kept in touch after all of these years. When Sophia and Matt emailed me asking me to shoot their wedding I was so honored. It was a really beautiful day on the Central Coast and I am so blessed that I was able to be a part of it and document their beautiful day. Their ceremony was held at the amazing Mission San Luis Obispo and reception at The Cass House in Cayucos (which, to my sadness, has sold to new owners and I’ve learned they aren’t holding weddings there anymore). Hoping they change their mind because it’s a beautiful space. Sophia and Matt, thank you thank you thank you, for allowing me into your amazing lives. I’m forever grateful.
This may be the prettiest Easter table ever! Styled, of course, by the ladies of Beijos Events with florals by MV Florals, all of the gorgeous vintage glassware, plates and flatware by Borrowed Blu, with paper goods by Emily of HoneyHue Paper Co, and those delicious desserts? Oh man, those are all from Sweet and Saucy and they WERE amazing! A full post is up on 100 Layer Cake but I couldn’t help sharing my favorites as well. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend and here’s to all of our tables looking as gorgeous as this one, right?
Having the opportunity to be a photographer for Zooey Magazine has been so fun. I love being able to switch up my shooting style and do things a little different. Most recently I was able to photograph the lovely Joy Cho of Oh Joy and her sweet daughters in their home for a “day in the life” series and it was such a fun morning! Joy is one of the sweetest women and little Ruby is seriously the most delightful little girl. Make sure you head over to the Zooey Journal to read more.
My beautiful friend Ari is marrying the man of her dreams in TWO DAYS and I cannot wait to head up the coastline to celebrate their love. We shot some engagement photos for them a few months back and I just love them. Let the party begin guys!!
